Jewelry Care Instructions
Lauren Brook crafts jewelry with ease of wear in mind. Our pieces can be work in the shower, working out, at the beach, or wherever life takes you. We recommend removing delicate pieces (like necklaces on thin chain) before doing any strenuous activity to avoid breaks.
Sterling Silver Jewelry:
Sterling silver jewelry naturally tarnishes over time. This is not a defect but a natural process. To avoid tarnish, when not being worn keep jewelry away from humidity and store in a cool, dark container. Sterling silver loves to be worn. Wearing sterling jewelry helps prevent tarnish.
To clean tarnished jewelry, wipe with a jeweler's cloth, dip in a sterling silver jewelry cleaner, or make a paste using baking soda and water and gentle rub over tarnished jewelry. Rinse with water after applying and pat dry.
14k Gold Filled and Solid Karat Jewelry:
14k gold filled jewelry and solid karat jewelry will not need tarnish removal. Constant wear may necessitate a quick clean. To do so, simply rub gently with dish soap, rinse, and pat dry. For stubborn dirt, use a SOFT toothbrush and dish soap to get into tight spaces. Rinse and pat dry. Store all jewelry away from humidity, preferable in a jewelry box.
